A Chill and A Spray of Sunshine

Slowly they fall into a steady rhythm…

Right leg. Left leg. Over the rocks.

The dirt path was lined with trees.

Few leaves remained through the New England winter.

Right leg. Left leg.  The air is cold.

It is refreshing, exhilarating on the skin of the face.

Gloves adorned, the tip of my nose may be envious.

I smile.

Right leg. Left leg.

My breathing becomes labored with the incline.

The break in the trees permits golden beams of light to befriend my nose.

I raise another smile at the sun.
I thank her for her visit, the warmth, and the motivation to continue in the cold.

Right leg. Left leg.

Heart rate is increasing.

The smell of Spring invigorates, a reminder of rebirth, regeneration.

In each breath, gratitude elevates my spirit.

Right leg. Left leg.

I say Hello to my friend, The Tree.
A smile and a tear of appreciation are what I have to share today.

I share a gentle pat on the exposed smooth root of the trunk

…and words to express thanks for taking care of us.

Right leg. Left leg.

Upon the path, within the trees, you hear the leaves, your feet move thoughtfully forward.

Arriving at the top of the climb, the wind is loud with her voice.

The wind is in charge, a spirit leader speaks.

I breathe in the Air.

I learn Humility.

Thank you, Mother Earth.
